Calling all guys, men thru Jr. High boys!

You’re invited to enjoy some good food and hear the amazing story of Jeff Miller, local business entrepreneur and survivor of the 1989 crash of United Airlines Flight 232 in Sioux City Iowa.

On July 19, when Flight 232 was attempting an emergency landing, the plane cartwheeled, broke into pieces and burst into flames. Although 113 of the 297 people on board lost their lives, Jeff was able to unbuckle his safety belt and walk away from the wreckage without a scratch or smudge.

Come and hear about Jeff’s life-changing experience!

Reserve a seat (or two, or three...) by completing this simple form.

Last day to sign up: Sunday, April 10

A freewill offering will be taken. Donations cheerfully accepted!

Serving the village day

Saturday, April 30 • 9:30 AM - Noon

Does your yard look more like an Amazonian rainforest than a suburban retreat?

Do you need help with household repairs, painting or cleaning?

If you answered "yes" to either question (or both), we can help!

Elk Grove Baptist Church has held "Serving the Village Days" (formerly known as Community Service Day) three times per year for the past seven years. Maybe you've seen us in your neighborhood, wearing our aqua shirts. We hit the streets and help our neighbors in EGV!

On Serving the Village Days — in addition to helping at resident's homes — we also:

• Collect non-perishable groceries from specific neighborhoods for the EG Food Pantry

• Clean the medians down Elk Grove Blvd.

• Assist with organization at the Kenneth Young Resale Shop

• Bring gifts of appreciation to each EG Fire Department location and the Police Station

We keep pretty busy!

So if you need help at your home, please call the church office at 847-593-8337,

To EGBC members and friends who are serving:

We need volunteers for various assignments!

Stop by the table in the church lobby and sign up for one of these important needs. Watch for additional details in each Sunday's worship folder and especially in eBlast the week leading up to the 30th.

Also needed: food donations for the gift baskets given to EG Police and Firefighters! Sign up in the church lobby to make a donation.

NOTE: 25 volunteers are also needed on Saturday, April 23, at 9:30 AM, to help distribute grocery bags to the designated EG neighborhood. These bags are used for the EG Food Pantry Food Drive and will be collected on April 30th.
